I’ve pinpointed some “Moranifestos” found in How to Build a Girl. Here they are:
I haven’t been writing on here as much as I wanted to when I started the blog, and I think that’s because I am putting pressure on myself to write a certain kind of post–that is, an in-depth, well-researched piece about books and media and culture, etc.
If you’re new to London, or are visiting for a bit, there are some bookshops you should definitely see, like Foyle’s on Charing Cross Road, Daunt Books in Marylebone, as well as The London Review Bookshop and Persephone. But, if you’ve seen it all before, or if you want a shop or two that isn’t so hyped, I have some suggestions for you.
I want to see happy, hardworking couples represented in my media. Show me what life can be.

I know what kimchi is, and I assume rice plays an important role in Korean cooking, but that’s my base understanding of this culture’s food. I thought I would highlight some of the dishes mentioned in One Hundred Shadows and explain what they are, or at least give you readers a visual aid.
I first heard about One Hundred Shadows by Hwang Jungeun, translated by Jung Yewon, from one of Jen Campbell’s haul videos and it instantly grabbed my attention because I’d been reading The Vegetarian by Han Kang, translated from the Korean into English by Deborah Smith, who started Tilted Axis Press, which translated One Hundred Shadows. Whew! Did we get all that?
I had the opportunity to join some lovely BookTubers on a bookshop crawl through central London this past weekend and I still can’t believe it actually happened.
Lately I’ve been reading fiction and non-fiction books by North and South Korean authors. It’s been great!
Well, isn’t this exciting! I’ve been posting videos on MercuryCalling since January 2015, and I’m happy to announce the creation of this very blog, which will be a place where I post content related to the YouTube channel.
